The 80's didn't necessarily work out for all of us.

In Carlos' entry, Urban Square: In Pursuit of Amber, things seems to have gone over well, though, as it takes all the best of 80's action schlock; the gunfire, the adventure and the guy who gets swept along with it all.

Tim, however, is considerably less pleased with Mangirl!. Putting cute girls in charge of everything should by all accounts work out, but Mangirl seems to depend too much on one's interest in the creation process of manga, and he questions whether even that is enough.

So it's back to dumb fun with our last entry of the week, my review of Problem Children are Coming from Another World, aren't they? (Christ, that's a mouthful, isn't it?) And is it fun? It sure is, with a side order of big, big britches.

And with that, I bid you all a fond farewell once again. See you next Monday for some more shows to talk about.

-Stig Høgset.

A whole lotta high school.

Because those were the best days of our lives, right?

Carlos dives into the more serious aspect of high school life, except... not really. He watched Campus Investigator Hikaruon, an 80's demon-y cheesefest that really should have taken itself more seriously. Alas, no...

Aiden moves on to the most archetypical of high school shows; the romantic... comedy? Oreshura is his poison of choice, and he reacted to it like most people do to poison.

So I guess it's up to me to bring the goods -- well, in a more literal fashion -- with Girls und Panzer. To put it in perspective; its sales run didn't exactly TANK. (Ohoho.)

...sorry.

Well, anyway, join us next week, where we'll once again have more reviews for you. Panzer Vor.

Sneak update!

BAM! Just when you thought there'd be no updates, here we go!

Carlos starts us off with the 80s goodness of Cosmo Police Justy.

After that we got Aiden with his review of the adorable Puchimas: Petit iDOLM@STER, a fun little spinoff of the original iDOLM@STER series from 2011.

And Nick wraps things up with the supernatural shonen action show Kaze no Stigma.

That's it for this week. See you guys again next time!

The glittery, the grim and the.... uh... wait, what was I talking about again?

Well, we're back again with more reviews, and boy, do we have three very different shows for you.

Carlos starts us off with Nagareboshi Lens, a brief show that proves beyond a doubt that, despite what Twilight fans might think, shoujo did the sparkly thing first.

And then Nick comes along and throws us all into nihilism and despair with the rather infamous Texhnolyze, one of the best outlandishly depressing shows out there.

So it falls to me to return moods to a somewhat even keel, and to do that, I give you Maoyu, a starter-offer that might make a lot of you think of Spice and Wolf for some odd reason. Let's hope we'll get the opportunity to meet these guys in another season in the future, eh?

Anyway, that's it for this week. We've been quite productive as of late, though, so expect some more next week.

3-2-3 ... is this a Los Angeles number?

Aiden begins our update with the Gen Urobuchi SF thriller Psycho-Pass and ponders the difference between competence and brilliance, a line that this series doesn't ever quite manage to cross.

Carlos also takes on the mostly (and rightfully) forgotten Studio Pierrot magical girl OVA Harbor Light Story: From Fashion Lala, only notable for having been the original concept behind what would prove a far better show a decade later.

Stig caps things off with the overwrought, but entertaining space opera Heroic Age, a good-looking mecha show bogged down by some ham-handed exposition.

Lots more reviews coming down the pipeline - please look forward to them!

"We apologise for the fault in the subtitles. Those responsible have been sacked."

And now we get to our real Monday update.

Allen starts us off with a belated look at the intriguing 2002 post-apocalyptic procedural TV series Heat Guy J, lauding it as a worthy addition to the "gritty sci-fi" oeuvre.

Carlos bravely takes on the violent, poorly-animated sci-fi action one-shot Roots Search and ultimately adds to the collective dogpile it has earned from every anime review site that has gone near the thing in the last two decades.

Stig takes a quick look at the Flash animation series My Little Sister Is an Osakan Momma, throws his hands in the air, and says, "This anime can't be this badly animated, parochial, and stereotyped!"

Plenty more reviews already in the tank this month, so keep your eyes peeled, and remember - there's still a few hours left to "Don't Believe Anything You See On The Internet Day" so stay frosty.

California Climbin'.

Two shows on our list today.

Carlos heads off California Crisis: Gun Salvo at the pass, and has to contend with the US forces and the Russians to bring you all the bullets and explosions you'd ever want.

Meanwhile, I undertake something a bit more sedate (with no explosions and only a little bit of gunplay at the very end); namely Encouragement of Climb, a really awkwardly named web animation where a bunch of adorable girls go on hikes or talk about camping equipment. The hiking enthusiast in me approve of all this.

Next week, we got all that and one more for you. Happy trails.

Well, it's still Monday somehwere...

Sorry about that. Time has made quite the fool out of me recently.

We got two four-star reviews lined up today. First up is Aiden with his review on the noitaminA series Black Rock Shooter TV, and then we have Jake with his review on forgotten gem The Good Witch of the West Astraea Testament.

That's it for this week. Carlos returns with a new review next week. Maybe they will be more then, too. See you then!

Vampires and demons and... oh, my.

Hey, fellow readership. I'm doing the update a bit earlier than normal today for late shift-related reasons. But hey, better absurdly early than... not, right? Or something?

Anyway, first in our review roundup is Aiden Foote. He went through Blood C's sequel movie, the somewhat amusingly titled Blood C: The Last Dark. Did he like it? The answer is a resounding "...I guess?"

As for myself; in preparation of getting the chance to run an old favorite of mine to completion, I revisited one of my first reviews ever for this site, namely Inuyasha, and did what I had promised myself to do long ago: write a full review for it. (Don't wanna lose my reviewer credibility, right?)

Part of the reason for this is that I recently got (and naturally watched) Inuyasha: Final Act, a TV series that set out to do what the original TV series didn't: go through the manga at breakneck speeds. Meaning if you weren't a huge fan of the filler from the original TV series, this will be more to your liking.

Who knows? Maybe they'll release an Inuyasha Kai series in the future. In the mean time, this is me and the rest of THEM wishing you all a great week.
