Hey, everyone. 'tis Stig and Nick dropping by to give you the latest in two-star entertainment.

Nick: Samurai Flamenco sure has the spirit of a flamenco dancer, at least at first. But then, the dance company changes hands, and apparently the era of the samurai came to an end somewhere in the midst. Read on to find out why this promising show ended up as such a mess.

Stig: Celestial Method, however, could use a bit more spring in its step, because all you get here for far too long is people being angry at each other for poorly defined reasons. Then again, one should not expect more from a show that defies reason and expects a magic, glowing orb in the sky to fix all its problems.

Then again, that would probably be a lot more fun than this.

Nick tackles -- almost literally -- a musical show called Tari Tari. I can almost imagine him leaping at its ankles, tackling it to the ground and continuously slapping it while telling it what for. Either way, he did not have a good time.

As for me, I guess I could manage with Girl Friend BETA. It wasn't particularly interesting, but it didn't hurt to watch either. I know there's a lot of people out there who are going to love this stuff, and I don't necessarily blame you. That said, there's still a few things you should probably keep in mind before heading in, so... uh, head into the review and find out why.

So yeah, this week, neither Allen or I had much fun with our respective shows.

Allen tried giving Chronicles of the Going Home Club a go, but it seemed like the show was dead set at sabotaging itself.

And in my own opinion, Trinity Seven could have been a lot more fun if it realized that an action show is supposed to have action, and you can't have that if the characters in it insist on dragging out every conversation it starts with babble of various levels of meaninglessness.

So yeah, that could have gone better. And from the looks of things, next week might not see a lot of improvement either, if at all. See you then.

Happy 2015, readers! As we approach the start of the Winter anime season, we've got a couple of picks from Fall 2014 to talk about in the interim.

Regarding the title of this post, I certainly wouldn't encourage terraforming after the disastrous results depicted in a certain show about cockroaches. One of 2014's more hyped-up series, Allen finds it to be adequate but uninspiring, with the consensus among the rest of the THEM denizens generally being that director Hiroshi Hamasaki (Texhnolyze, Shigurui) made the best of altogether uninspiring source material.

On the other hand, Stig's pick is nothing less than an absolute joy, according to him. Hikers and anime lovers alike rejoice!
