Sorry for the lack of updates folks! The editor is working overtime at his day job and I've been...well, I've been a slacker, but I'm always a slacker so that's ok. =D

We should have some goodies for you all on Weds. before the long holiday.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wednesday Update

Could it be ... an actual update? Why, yes, it is!

First off - three reviews were somehow missed during the transfer from the old site to the new: GATCHAMAN (1994), GHOST IN THE SHELL, and THE GIRL FROM PHANTASIA. The GATCHAMAN review has been partially rewritten to reflect the more recent DVD release, but the other two reviews are as they originally appeared (though in the new format, of course).

New reviews:

Jeremy Beard goes waaay back for the proto-Ghibli work HORUS PRINCE OF THE SUN. How far back? We were one year away from landing a man on the moon: 1968. Jeremy also gives us a review for MAGIC KNIGHT RAYEARTH 2, completing the set for that franchise.

Isaac Cynova gives us another look at ARMITAGE III: POLYMATRIX, though he ends up giving the same rating as the original review.

Stig Høgset details the 1981 movie ADIEU GALAXY EXPRESS 999, which would probably win the "retro" award any other week but this one.

Derrick Tucker gives top marks to the excellent and addicting (but mysteriously overshadowed) shounen TV series HUNTER X HUNTER, and a high mark for the first season of the highly anticipated GHOST IN THE SHELL: STAND ALONE COMPLEX.

More reviews to come, as always.

Monday Update

Several reviews are in the queue ... and they still aren't up. Gah.

November 14 2003, 11:19 AM

As our Chief Editor was unable to get to a computer in time for the update, we'll have to postpone things until Monday.

Sorry folks!

Wednesday Update

There are a couple of reviews that need to be uploaded, but we're concentrating on fixing some errata over the next couple days, so those additions will be up on Friday.

Monday Update

Sorry about the delay, but we're through the majority of the move, so ... without further ado:

Jeremy Beard starts us off with another "angel" anime, EARTHIAN, which doesn't receive quite the high marks that PLEASE SAVE MY EARTH did, failing to even score an average score.

Stig Høgset also gives a subpar rating to KEKKO KAMEN - too many puns and too much crass humor for even him, I guess. He also reviews the underappreciated CYBER CITY OEDO 808, which he rather enjoys.

Friday Update

Updates are postponed until Monday, since we're still fixing things up at the New Apartment.

See ya then!

Wednesday Update

Nothing, because the editorial staff is busy moving between apartments.

Reviews will be up in time for Friday, though.

Monday Update

Quick triple-shot.

Jeremy Beard offers a second opinion of SOUL HUNTER and a first look at the classic GALAXY EXPRESS 999. And Stig Høgset goes back even further for PANDA GO PANDA.

Two more days, and another update. Ciao!
