Review Update Time

It's just not Stig's week. First, he takes the second season of GIRLS BRAVO and bashes it with a wok for egregious usage of fan service and curses the people who told him "it would get better later on". Or something like that.

In a search for something new, Stig stumbles upon BOKUSATSU TENSHI DOKURO-CHAN ("Club-em-to-death Angel Skull-chan"), in which at least one extremely violent (but cute) angel is sent by God to place a hit on a boy named Sakura, whose destiny is to turn the entire female human population of Earth into twelve-year-old girls in the name of "eternal youth". Amen Ahem.

Stig finally ends up reviewing the full run of the (unfortunately substandard) Swedish dub of STARZINGER, which is apparently the best thing he's seen all week. At least it's a decent enough show to partially make up for the others.

Tim's lone review this week is of the ADV release GRRL POWER, which he finds rather enjoyable but all too short.

I think we can all agree on this week's verdict: more GRRL POWER, fewer angelic beatings.

...

Please?

Errata

Just a quick note that Anime Secrets (our partner in the Fanime 2004 anime review panel) has changed its URL to www.animesecrets.org.

We are still working on adding box art, and reviews should be forthcoming next week.

Updates might be a bit slow until July, as the Editor-in-Chief will be in Hiroshima, Japan for five weeks on an overseas study program.

Some Spring Cleaning

And here's a couple of reviews delayed by yesterday's downtime.

Carlos is having a very bad week, thanks to the double-whammy of cliched harem-girl fantasy MABURAHO and boring girls-with-guns psychodrama MADLAX.

Diane doesn't have much more luck with the awkwardly gothic LE PORTRAIT DE PETIT COSETTE.

Meanwhile Connor is suckered into watching the OAV adaptation of HOURGLASS OF SUMMER, which proves to be nowhere nearly as good as the game.

So, it's up to Stig to give us a review of something good. Instead of his usual trudge through the detritus of anime releases, he comes up with something well and truly worthwhile: the long-awaited AH MY GODDESS TV series.

More Errata

Slowly working through more box covers. Also working around a bug where inputting Japanese text defaults the site to SHIFT-JIS rather than Auto-Detect Western.

Wednesday update is actually already up, but we'll do the announcing to that tomorrow.

Being behind on THEM maintenance : officially for the birds.

A Bit of Downtime

Downtime is over, carry on.

Now, An April Fools Errand

The painstaking process of adding box art and screencaps to our reviews has officially begun, largely because Carlos is completely unmotivated to do his homework. *sigh*

Mangled Legalese:

All copyrighted work is provided under fair use -- this is intended exclusively for informative purposes.

Anyone who "claims" ownership of box art and screen captures other than the actual copyright owners and licensors of the show in question will be summarily slapped with a trout.

Because The World Demands It

A new review from Carlos for the curiously familiar LEGEND OF THEM.
