Shueisha

From THEMWiki

Shueisha (集英社, also spelled Shuueisha or Shūeisha by pedants) is one of Japan's top publishers, founded in 1926. They are mainly known in the West for the manga that they publish. The name "Shueisha" comes from the phrase Eichi ga tsudou (英知が集う, roughly translated as "Meet wisdom").

Along with Shogakukan and Hakusensha, they are owned by the Hitotsubashi Group. In 2003 they bought stock in Viz Media and own part of it. And of course, Viz can license anything in Shueisha's library.

Some of the magazines they publish in Japan are Ribon, Margaret, Shounen Jump and the Japanese editions of Seventeen, Cosmopolitan and Playboy.
