Christmas Roundup: Vikings and High-School Girls.

Thankfully not in the same show, because that would be bad for the girls.... depending. And that's because my pick for this Christmas is the first season of Vinland Saga, where you don't want to be on the receiving end of most of the main characters in this show and their weaponry of choice. I kid, of course, but boy howdy, I'm glad the show has a sense of humor to sprinkle over the more serious parts. And even better, this show is damn good! Seriously, I am impressed at how well it weaves a fantastic story around our historical past, and I cannot recommend it more.

On the other hand, Tim takes a second look at Azumanga Daioh and find it still good. Sure, some aspects of it didn't age in the best ways, although some of the characters were considered quite questionable even back then. But I guess the show's biggest issue is that by now, it simply has too much competition from newer shows, and if you've seen any of them, you might wonder what all the hubbub is about. That being said, it is still a classic.

And that's that. Next week, which will be the very first day of the new year, Allen will return with a little something magical. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas (or whichever other holiday you celebrated.. or didn't celebrate.) See you all then.

Intergalactic Penpal For Hire.

This week, Tim and I have A Galaxy Next Door for you all. It's.... well, it's an alright show. It's endearing and cute and all, but... well, read the review and see.

And that's that. The next update will happen on Christmas day, where Tim and I will return with two reviews for you all. See you then.

"Is it a Bird? Is it a Boy? No, it's..... Both?!"

Allen's taken a dive into the Studio Ghibli vault today for The Boy and the Heron, another one of Miyazaki's "OK, maybe I haven't quite retired..... yet" movies. And is it any good? Well, it's Miyazaki. What do you think?

And that's that for this week. Next week's gonna be a bit up in the air. (Again? Imagine that.) But both me and Tim are working on something for the Christmas update that's gonna go live on the 25th, so there's that. Anyway, see you again later.

Over The Highschool For You.

Allen takes a look at Tonikawa Over The Moon For You: High School Days, and he's... not that impressed with it. Which is to say he wasn't super impressed with the original TV shows either; he found it decent enough, but Over the Moon is not good even by Tonikawa standards.

And that's that for this week. We're into the good ol' Christmas month now, but we'll see you again next week.
